Sports clubs at Queensland Academy give students a chance to explore different games, build fitness, and learn teamwork outside the classroom. We run clubs for football, basketball, athletics, and table tennis. Sessions are held twice a week after school and are open to Primary 4 to SS3 students. Each club is led by a coach or teacher who focuses on skill development, discipline, and fair play. Students also get to represent the school in inter-school competitions across different states.
What our sports clubs offer:
Our football court is the main venue for PE lessons, Football Club training, and inter-house matches. It’s a standard 5-a-side pitch with marked lines and goalposts, open to students from Primary 4 and above. Sessions run after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, supervised by our sports coaches. We focus on ball control, teamwork, and match fitness in a safe, structured environment.
Badminton training runs weekly for students who want to learn the basics or improve their game. We provide rackets and shuttlecocks, and coaches teach footwork, serving, and rally techniques. It’s open to Primary 5 to SS3 students and doubles as both a recreational activity and preparation for school tournaments.
Registration opens at the start of each term. Parents can sign up during orientation week or contact the Sports Coordinator at any campus. Spots are limited per club to keep training effective.
Yes, if the schedules don’t clash. Most students pick one main sport per term so they can focus and progress faster.
We participate in inter-school events once per term, usually in weeks 8-10. Parents are notified in advance, and selected students train extra in the weeks leading up to the competition.
